The Brownie
Complexity & Simplicity
Redefining the Brownie Experience
What makes our brownies delectable? Using cocoa AND melted chocolate AND butter instead of oil. The best brownie recipes start with real melted chocolate, which is why store-bought brownie mixes made from cocoa powder lack the rich, fudgey flavor of homemade brownies made from scratch. In addition, adding in a generous amount of dark and milk chocolate chunks makes the BEST chocolate brownies in the world.
The Recipe
- 200g Unsalted Butter
- 200g Dark Chocolate Chips
- 175g Brown Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 TSP Vanilla Extract
- 75g Plain Flour
- 30g Cocoa Powder
- Pinch of Salt
- 180g Dark/Milk Chocolate Chunks
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 180ºC/350ºF
- Spray a 20cm/8 inch square pan with oil and line with baking/parchment paper.
- Place butter and dark chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds until melted.
- Add sugar and vanilla, mix, then add eggs and mix well until smooth.
- Add flour, cocoa and salt and stir until smooth. Stir in chopped chocolate chunks, pour into pan.
- Bake 24 minutes for really gooey in the center, 28 minutes for fudgy but still very moist(best), and 32 minutes for moist fudge-cake-like. All ovens are different, so play around with temperature and baking times.
- Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before lifting it from the pan. Allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
